A Thanksgiving Litany

I wrote this for the November, 2008 edition of the Church newsletter. It is offered here for your benefit.

Think of a member of the community who gives of their time, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of someone who is a role model to you, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of someone who inspired you in your faith, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a teacher, who inspired you in your learning, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a family member who was instrumental in your upbringing, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a friend who was always there for you, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a time when you felt the presence of the Lord guiding you through a difficult time in the past year, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a blessing you have been granted in the past year, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a member of the military, who is fighting for our freedom, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a politician who fights for what is right, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of someone who is preparing for work in the Church, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of a young person in the faith, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of someone who is new to the faith, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of someone whose work it is to serve others, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of those who look to you, and say Thanks be to God.

Think of the day when Christ will return in Glory, and say Thanks be to God.

For these and for all things of body and soul, let us say Thanks be to God! AMEN!

God Bless & Happy Thanksgiving! Pastor Schmidt
